Robert Adams

Robert was born and raised in Mooresville NC. He graduated from Virginia Tech in 1985 and worked in the hospitality industry. He moved to Pittsylvania County in 1997 and opened a Subway restaurant in Tightsqueeze. At retirement in 2021, he owned 5 stores. Robert was a member of the Chatham Planning Commission for 5 years and a member of the Chatham Rotary Club for 15 years. He now lives on his family farm in the Swansonville area.
Joe Rogers

An area native, Joe retired back to Chatham after a 32-year career as a Civil Engineer. Since returning, he has been active in local civic and church organizations, holding various offices in each. As a member of Chatham First, he was instrumental in the guiding the organization’s community improvement projects for Competition Alley and Giles Corner. He has also served on Chatham Town Council and as Mayor. He has been married to his high school sweetheart, Kitty White Rogers, since 1965.
Carol B. Motley

A life-long resident of Pittsylvania County, Carol has been a member of Chatham Rotary Club for 22 years. She is a graduate of Chatham High School and Danville Community College. Carol retired from her position as Executive Director of the Pittsylvania Economic Development Organization in 2009. She and her husband, Boyd, reside on Cherrystone Road in Chatham, and spend their spare time with their son, grandsons and great-grandson.
Phil Mauger

Originally from the southern coast of England, Phil moved to the U.S. in 1985 to work as a Computer Software Engineer with ITT. With over 10 years in the computer consulting industry, he founded Outstaffing, Inc. in 1995. Outstaffing was one of the first Professional Employer Organizations registered in the Commonwealth of Virginia. He moved to the area in 2002 and lives in Chatham, VA, with his wife Pam. Phil joined the Rotary Club of Chatham in 2002 and has served as Club President in 2007 and served a second term in 2018; he is currently the Club Treasurer, a position he assumed in 2005.
Richard Camp

Following service in the U.S. Navy, Dick earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering from Virginia Polytechnic Institute. Over his nearly 40-year professional career, he was employed in the space, shipbuilding, and power generation industries where he spent the majority of his career in management positions on major power plant construction projects, until retirement in 2006. He co-founded a successful consultancy providing specialized nuclear power plant management and engineering services to several law firms, electric utilities, national laboratories, and the Department of Energy. He is a member of Emmanuel Episcopal Church where he has served as Senior Warden on the Vestry and is now a Trustee and Treasurer. As a member of the Chatham Rotary Club he has served on the Board of Directors, Projects Committee Chairman, and as President. He is a past board member of the Boys & Girls Clubs of Danville and current board member of the Community Foundation of the Dan River Region.
Ben Davenport

Ben is the Chairman of First Piedmont Corporation, a regional waste management and disposal company, and Davenport Energy, a regional petroleum supplier. He is a member of the Board of Directors of the Institute for Advanced Learning and Research and sits on the Boards of MBC and Go Va. A graduate of Hargrave Military Academy and Virginia Tech, he resides in Pittsylvania County with his wife Betty. His local volunteer commitments include serving on the Boards of Hargrave Military Academy and the Future of the Piedmont Foundation. He is a former Rector of the Board of Visitors of Virginia Tech.
Rachel del Campo Gatewood

Rachel joined the Rotary Club of Chatham in 2008 and has served as club president and director, as well as District Assistant Governor, District Grants Subcommittee Chair, and District Foundation Grants Subcommittee Vice Chair. She received her BA in accounting and MBA from Averett College (now University). She had a successful 17-year career as a professional fundraiser before becoming co-owner of Tightsqueeze Hardware in 2007. In 2014 she co-founded River District Consulting Group, an organizational strategy consulting firm, working with local governments, nonprofits, and businesses throughout Virginia. She resides in Chatham near her four children and four grandchildren.

A retired Circuit Court judge, Charlie has been a member of the Rotary Club of Chatham for over 25 years. He has served on the Board of Directors of the Community Foundation of the Dan River Region. He and his wife Tina live in Chatham.
